That’s messed up!

I don’t understand how this is Government assistance since we have to pay it back. I wish we had a choice to opt out.

What’s next, payback unemployment!
The concept (which is clearly flawed) is that the Administration (since this is an Executive Order--not Congressional statute) wants to offer you payday loan.

It is bound to fail because quite a few people who resort to these payday loans are unable to pay it back fully.

Also, to address the massive elephant in the room, the Administration (since this is an Executive Order--not Congressional statute) wants people to get artificially bigger paychecks now through election day, then conveniently stops just after that date.

Stating facts FWIW.
Let’s face it: new ads are out there by the POTUS that are bragging about millions of Americans with higher paychecks under his administration/actions. Technically true. But you forced military and civilians govt workers to take the increase (trust me: many do not want it) and sure lots of people that were essential works had to start working 60+ hours a week. Of course they got a higher paycheck.

Very misleading. It’s like running an ad that says, “under my administration we had some days with clear blue sky’s, and at night you can see the moon”. Yep. Pretty obvious.

Let's keep this focused on how this will affect our finances and investments, folks. Try to stay away from diving down the political rabbit hole - I don't want to have to lock the thread.

May Jay throw in an amusing meme once in a while to subtly break up overt political exchanges between left and right wing extremists here? It worked last time

One of those time frames was when Tip O'Neal and Ronald Reagan would meet over a few drinks and sort it out.
