L 2020 Ending Now What?
I retired from DHS in 2010 and decided to stay in the L 2020. I have been taking a monthly allotment of 4% for the last year and will continue to do so. I have just been notified by TSP that the L 2020 fund is ending in June and I need to make a decision on where to move my funds. I'm sure many other retirees are running into the same dilemma. I would appreciate any other suggestions on where to move these funds.

L2030 is the "old" L2020.

Depends on your risk level. L2030 is roughly 60 percent stocks and will stay that way for a good time. L2020 is now around 25 percent stocks. I thought the L2020 would merge into the L Income fund, which is currently a little over 20 percent stocks and is supposed to gradually increase to 30 percent by 2030.
You can see how the various allocations of the lifecycle funds will change over time on the TSP website.

https://www.tsp.gov/InvestmentFunds/Fun ... L2020.html Displays the latest fund make-up of L2020. You could potentially just mimic your account with those percentages or slightly tweak. However, it has been automatically been rebalancing to almost match L income. Maybe you don’t feel as strong about international funds, or feel bonds will keep going back up, etc.

This. Just mirror the L2020 funds and leave it there.Neuronic wrote:https://www.tsp.gov/InvestmentFunds/Fun ... L2020.html Displays the latest fund make-up of L2020. New lifecycle funds are coming out later this year. You will be able to select a Lifecycle 2025 plan that should be closer to your current 2020 plan.
