I heard that the TSP Modernization act has been implemented but I was still unclear about taking a partial withdrawal out of the TSP. I am pretty sure that RMD (required minimum distributions) will continue to be Pro-Rata. To avoid this Pro-Rata distribution, I plan to withdrawal my TSP Roth to a Roth IRA before RMD's kick in.
I called TSP and was told that yes I could apply for a "partial" withdrawal from only my TSP Roth portion and roll it over. This "partial" withdrawal could be done once every 30 days. Also once the money was taken out, it could not be returned to the TSP.
I just thought that I would pass that on
Take care, Joe

I am just an average Joe. I have no clue to what the market will do.
