Started changing in the late 10's, and really changed around 2020. Now there's some that are lower, both because they started adopting TSP's approach of keeping costs low as a priority, and TSP raising prices to pay for things like a new website, etc.

TSP is not the cheapest anymore, but still very affordable. I would estimate that it's easily in the top 10 cheapest index fund investment vehicles. The difference is pretty small compared to mutual funds.

Rough analogy: If the cheapest gas in the nation is $2.00 and the most expensive is $6.00, then the TSP would be about $2.15 (when it was formerly $1.75). It's not the lowest, but far better than most.
Well said. I'm only mentioning this because I totally agree here. On that note, Fidelity has some nice "free" funds, but I don't think their indexes do as well as the standard ones (SP500, etc.). Personally, I've really starting enjoying Pacer and Avantis. You can check out the indexes from Pacer and they have awesome (theoretical) returns. So far some are really doing as advertised.

Here is an updated version of my old post. It's a very long article. But if you're looking for a way to manage your portfolio after retirement, it's worth consideration. https://www.barfieldfinancial.com/new-b ... l-strategy

Great read Bubba823. I skipped to about page 18 and read from there. I really enjoyed it.

Thanks for posting!
I am just an average Joe. I have no clue to what the market will do.
