Too early to commit to any course of action. Let's see what they do to fix their own problems first.

What should the U.S. do to protect its own economy

Post by MakeMe$$$$ »

Global economies have become extremely intertwined. The financial problems of one nation can have major impacts on the U.S. Economy. With that in mind...

I believe that Europe has become too big too fail, and if we let them fall, they could bring down the entire deck of cards. Lehmans was one bank...............the PIIGS are several countries........

Problem is, what is the solution? Banks had a bigger lender to save them. Europe? Not so much.

This is a debt & growth problem, not a liquidity problem (liquidity is a symptom, not a cause).

I think the system is gonna crash and it will be ugly..........IMHO.............

I don't think there is a solution. Maybe the crash is the solution? We get a great big reset.

UM...I am not sure I understand your question.

I did see a grammar thingy and added the word "should" to the topic. Did that fix your understanding? If not...I'm all ears.

Simple answer. To understand the question, because I was lost the first time I read it aswell. You have to read the first post by MakeMe$$$$ before reading the poll question. If you read the post followed by the poll it rolls together and makes sense.

Ya...I noticed that. It's my first poll and I was a bit disappointed that the text to explain the poll was below the questions. I'll cogitate on that a bit and see if there is something else I can do or J might have a good answer.

MakeMe$$$$,

I think you did a helluva job for your first poll. See, polls are one of those things that people are always going to say you could have done better or should have done differently. They are subjective. So I think you did fine. I use to try and make it interesting, but after a while I learned that I could usually just ask a simple "yes" or "no" question without putting a lot of thought into it and generate as much discussion as the ones I really thought through.

For example, I could ask:

Which came first, the chicken, or the egg?

Chicken
Egg

Image

As soon as I did someone would say "Well that is really a stupid question because everyone knows the XXXXX party created the chicken first. And then someone else would say, "Yea, but that is because the XXXX party made it possible to create the egg." Yata yata yata……..

So then I come in a lob an answer that I really didn't think about at all that may either be true or untrue…like:

YouTube Link

And usually my response is taken as a scud…….."I-N-C-O-M-I-N-G!"

Image

And this continues until someone gets really anger (usually at me) and sometimes they quit.

Image

And then King comes in and tells me I have to play nice in the sand box……

Image

And then puts me in "time out"!

Image

And then the cycle repeats itself…….

First, J gave me the idea for the poll and so I played the apprentice moderator and put it together.

so...a couple thoughts...

1. I may not use the TSPcenter for some of the polls because posting them on the home page doesn't get people to read the text I like to use to frame the question.

2. That means I may just post my polls in other topics so they don't go to the home page and see if ya'll react to them from there.

The US gov should keep their hands out of the economy - We don't need another mess like they have created. Let if fail - it will reset and create a bottom - then it will move up again. As the economy falls the gov will shrink because they won’t have the money to waist. And once the gov gets back to doing what govs do, they will get out of all the social engineering of the last 80 years.
