What is your top issue this election?

Re: What is your top issue this election?
Education is my top issue.
Reason: you can't solve most of the other listed issues unless people are educated. I'm not talking about simply moving them through High School, claiming someone received an education; I'm advocating a real education to where the graduates can reason.
I believe that the job situation (unemployment) and the standard of living are symptoms of a bad education system. Obviously having a good education won't fix everything but it is a certainty that the uneducated can't run health care, the government, fix the environment, etc.
Therefore, education is the key to opportunity, that's what the government should be working toward ensuring, “an opportunity," for all; not trying to achieve income equality through the redistribution of wealth.
I hope to be wealthy some day and I surely want to keep what I earn, not have the government take it to give to someone else.
Yes, I believe in helping, by my own choice, those who were born with a physical disadvantage but not those who through stupidity or laziness wallow in their misery.

Re: What is your top issue this election?
I really enjoyed the article "Socialism Doesn't Work". I think all our political leaders should have to read that one. They just keep on trying............
Re: What is your top issue this election?
I picked Standard of Living because everyone should have a chance to raise their standard of living without fear of others taking it away from them, especially because of greed.
Re: What is your top issue this election?
Foghorn, excellent post of clear examples. Kudos on the way!

Thanks for that, flight.
These should be go-to's for all these "spending" debates:

You know, the breakdown of the actual budget proposals...
