Free Speech

Post by userque »

A core American concept.

Everyone has an opinion.

It may differ from yours.

And if it does, that doesn't mean that you have the right to attack them. In fact, honorable men and women, who truly represent what America stands for, will instead, defend them.

I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Thank you Benedict Que for what wonderful dialogue. So while I want law and order, and for the President and country to succeed, I know you want to see it crumble. Sorry that opinion differs from.

Also free speech can’t really happen when you and your ilk are burning half the country down. It is a shame a man dies needlessly, but what happening isn’t free speech. It’s vandalism, chaos, and anarchy. Everything you’ve ranted about for months. Slither back to your nest of chaos and get out of here.

I'll be reporting you a third time for, once again, calling me out of my name.

The free speech to which I referred was regarding my speech on this site. It's the concept of free speech that's American. It's the law with respect to the government.

Glad you're discussing things rather than only yelling and name-calling. Wish you'd become fully civil, or avoid these forums.

Keep reporting, Benedict Que. Because if I don’t call you out and tell you that this country is great and we will overcome, you’ll squirm here leeching morale from people. Like a festering boil, that needs to be stamped out. Your ideas are flawed, as I’m sure you would say the same about me.

I’m just here to counter what the spews out of your grubby, anarchist, fingers.

I'll be reporting you for a fifth time, yes.

I don't have a problem with you "calling me out." Simply do it civilly, and in accordance with the forum rules. Why couldn't you orchestrate that?

If you wanted to discuss my flawed ideas, and show everyone how flawed they are, then you should have just engaged me.

You yelling and name calling doesn't make a convincing argument that my ideas are flawed. It says something totally different.

I can't say the same about you. I would likely have questions about your ideas that I may not agree with, but I would wait to hear your reasoning before concluding that they are flawed.

There is nothing wrong with disagreeing. There is something wrong with what you've done here today.

Let's keep it calm, everybody. We don't need to do here what we're seeing on TV right now.

Billionair, I get where you're coming from. Really - I do. I think that you and I have the same views on socialism / autnoritarianism and the dangers it poses towards society. But we don't defeat it by using their tactics. We defeat obviously illogical or incorrect claims using calm, rigorous assertions of logic, and ignore them when their replies turn insulting or inflammatory. We don't reply with verbal insults and violence, even though we are able to do so. Just because we can do a thing doesn't mean that we should or that it's the best option available to us.

userque, you know where I stand on things, more or less. However, keep in mind that free speech also means that people are free to say not just things you disagree with, but also in ways you don't like.

As for the forum rules, MJ and I will be discussing the forum rules and enforcement of them as the transition continues from King to MJ's ownership.

Nowhere, did I have an issue with disagreement. I repeatedly said that we should discuss his issues civily.

Please point out where out was out of line.

I didn't say you were, nor did I say you were against his disagreeing with you. I was just pointing out that he can disagree with you however he wants, whether you approve of the manner in which he does it or not. I said as much when I said "...but also in ways you don't like".

However, I agree that he could approach his disagreement with more civility and tact (as I said to him in my post above).

Lol i was just amused at his incessant shrieky name-calling (e.g. "benedict que") and that his name is a misspelling of the word billionnaire, which he clearly is not.

Reminds me of someone we know. Too funny.

Since that wasn't the issue at all, it didn't need to addressed. It seems you are projecting our previous debate into your moderator duties.

I didn't end our previous debate, you did. If you still have something on your chest about that debate, and want to resume the debate to get it off of your chest, I'm all for it, just let me know.

I do not have a need to get something off my chest, and am not projecting any part of that discussion into my moderator duties.

I’ll keep it more civil next time with Benedict Que. I know the method was not in a professional manner, but I can only read the same nonsense for so long. And I’ve been gone for a while.

And @bloobs: billion + air, it’s a science formula that was used in helium to show direct flight and growth in aviation. Much like my 401K, I do hope it achieves great heights.

But nice try to pawn it off as a error against the President. Bloobs: one can only wonder that name means. Blubbery boobs? Maybe a 401K that is floating and barely hanging on? One can only wonder...!

Edit by Aitrus: Doh! I hit the "Edit" button instead of the "Quote" button as I typed my response to you. My apologies, userque. I did not intend to edit your original post, but to quote you in my own post. Unfortunately, once it's been submitted there's no way to bring up the original post. Please see my reply later on in the thread.

I wonder what makes you think my "401k" is doing terrible? Have you seen yours lately? Yeah yeah yeah you are gonna give me that "my fantasy account does not reflect my real account". Yeah, sure buddy. I am the king of england. that's the ticket.

You're funny, but in a tragic way. thanks for the laugh.
