I'm getting there .... I'm not good at math but my B&H strategy worked perfectly for me. Going to stay on this road for a bit ... maybe until I kick the bucket!

I think most people are close to recovering. Why else do you think the market is headed back down.

Can anyone speculate on “how low” the market will go south.Tomanyiron wrote:I think most people are close to recovering. Why else do you think the market is headed back down.
I’m at 91% recovered as of 8 Jun. Kind of happy about the time I used, was about medium on the aggressive scale.

I think one could speculate that after staggering Fed intervention due to COVID-19 and the economic impact of shutting down the economy for 2+ months…it’s reasonable to expect the market to tank. I don’t know why it’s rallying. Anyone who tried to time it and got caught...has not recovered.

I heard it's rising due to big money buying equities in order to protect against coming high levels of inflation (50-100% over 3-4 years).TSPking wrote:I think one could speculate that after staggering Fed intervention due to COVID-19 and the economic impact of shutting down the economy for 2+ months…it’s reasonable to expect the market to tank. Stocks expected to plunge at today’s open.TSPking wrote:I think one could speculate that after staggering Fed intervention due to COVID-19 and the economic impact of shutting down the economy for 2+ months…it’s reasonable to expect the market to tank. What does it mean when you say “Fed intervention”? Can you explain (first grade level please)?
Thanks

Federal Reserve has been buying risky corporate debt, as private investors divest from the risk asset, to the tune of $6 trillion I believe.ProduceMan wrote:Stocks expected to plunge at today’s open.TSPking wrote:I think one could speculate that after staggering Fed intervention due to COVID-19 and the economic impact of shutting down the economy for 2+ months…it’s reasonable to expect the market to tank. My understanding is they do this to prevent forced collateral calls (risk becomes too high, banks demand the collateral that was promised in this situation), forced liquidation (selling important business assets to pay the collateral call), business disruption (from selling important assets needed for revenue) leading to greater risk and more collateral calls; an ongoing downward spiral into bankruptcy. See Hertz for example.

Re: Are you Recovered?
I’m finally fully recovered comfortably (roughly a week). Wooohoooo!
Remembering, I think Tomanyirons goal of being in the G 75% of the time when stocks “go” down and being in the equity funds when stocks “go” up (kinda paraphrased it). I could’ve been higher up a few steps on the stair case.
