I voted up. Not because of any data, just because I want it to go up! It is unbelievable that we are nearing the highs from earlier this year and I'd expect some pull back. But, I don't think the market cares about no stinkin' COVID-19. People are tired of it and want their lives back. The economy will get going again.... at least until all the wobbly financial legs (the trillions of dollars) breaks. Even if the number of COVID-19 cases surges, people are not going to allow the governing politicians to shut everything down again.
Good luck with your TSP and retirement plans!

Oh, it's going up, but then back down. Pay me enough, and I'll tell what time of each.

The second call. 2 for 2, my man. Good job! I was able to make 80% of the money for my new grill!Tomanyiron wrote:The first's half is right.Tomanyiron wrote:Oh, it's going up, but then back down. Pay me enough, and I'll tell what time of each.
I would have made more if I hadn't gotten that work-related phone call as I was setting up my 2nd stop-loss order to dump my long holdings before the subsequent drop
Anyways I owe you buddy; I can offer you Fed-issued credits in ANY amount and type you want LOL!!!!!

At times like this Feds/Trump don't look so smart for constantly slashing interest rates in a 'bull market'. Instead of artificially manipulating the markets to climb higher by needlessly lowering rates, a responsible team at the helm would have raised interest rates and saved the 'lower the interest rates bullets' for a rainy day. Now they don't have any bullets left to fire. All they can do is print money and have the fed buy stocks with it. Once it gets around that this drop happening right now is the classic dead cat bounce, you'll not believe how fast the stock market will fall. It is gonna be a sight to see.
Here is a great read on how bad a job Trump has done with actual cited facts. More then you will get on Fox News.

To be honest, the Fed had to drop to 0 immediately. By the time that happened, we had already lost containment and the economy was in total freefall. I think they made the right choice to drop to 0.tspwizard1 wrote:At times like this Feds/Trump don't look so smart for constantly slashing interest rates in a 'bull market'. With that said, the administration did indeed fail at containment, mitigation, and (still?!) testing. Contact-tracing has been punted to the states. Since now it seems we're pretty much done with staying at home, it doesn't seem like we corrected any of the conditions that started this mess.
I'm not too optimistic about June's numbers, but we're not even halfway through yet so I guess we'll see. On the first sign of trouble, my guess is we'll try our hand at the dark arts of negative interest rates.
