S Fund Seasonal IFT
I believe most seasonals IFT to “S” today thru Fri (1/17). Is it because of the earnings report that occurred throughout the week. If so, are the reports posted always on the second week after each quarter?

Nothing to do about earnings report. Just following seasonal strategies.

Re: S Fund Seasonal IFT
Some seasonals IFT to S this week because the performance of the S Fund during this time period meets their investment criteria for the past 15 years (2004-2019). To be honest, while anecdotal tie ins to world events can be used to possibly explain why seasonal strategies move when and how they do, trying to make sense of why these Funds have done what they've done each trading day over the past 15 years is futile, I believe.
Bottom line: If you're a seasonal investor, follow your calendar and make your IFTs according to it and live with your choice. If not, best of luck to you and your system. There's lots of room for all to prosper.

Re: S Fund Seasonal IFT
I'm debating when I'll make my transfer. It had seemed that the market simply couldn't go lower, but then it did (a tad) yesterday even if today there is supposed to be the signing of the trade deal. On the other hand, the market is considered very "frothy" by many, so it wouldn't be great to transfer today into a correction, of course.
On a side note, I checked 2018 and 1999 to see how my strategy did. It was ok (not even a percentage point) for January, but for 1999 it was -7 for February and -2 for February in 2018. Both years had corrections in that month.
Fun stuff.
Best,
Me

Re: S Fund Seasonal IFT
I think a big part of that is because the Europeans embraced austerity after the Great Recession and then they got the Fiscal Crisis that happened afterwards due to their "well thought out" plan. Funny how history has shown us now 2x how to do this and still people insist "this time its different."BYK777 wrote:How high this can go? Anyway, I'm supposed to be in S and I'm not sure yet what to do next.
