PSA: Fed Asset Balance Sheet
Anger and intolerance are the enemies of correct understanding.

Re: PSA: Fed Asset Balance Sheet
The Fed Reserve Bank has stopped buying. That is all. Everything else is opinion.
Re: PSA: Fed Asset Balance Sheet
That may be just the balance sheet we are allowed to see. Powell keep saying that they have "Tools." Which most people think means money creation. So my question is this.....when the dollar collapses is it worse to be in stocks, or treasuries? In the meantime I am stacking.

line go up, line go down
No clue what I'm doing, but willing to learn.
Re: PSA: Fed Asset Balance Sheet
The fed can never reverse course though, as far as I can see. It's been 1 step forward and 10 steps backward in terms of the balance sheet, even in the best of times. It will grow again at the first sign of trouble. https://www.federalreserve.gov/monetary ... trends.htm
Bloobs,
How does that weekly asset tracker reconcile the fed announcement last week to begin buying individual corporate bonds? Is this just the lull before the purchasing starts or are those different baskets of money?

Re: PSA: Fed Asset Balance Sheet
I do not know. The Fed controls the messaging here. That chart only applies to data related to whatever/however "QE" is defined by them. As Scorpio said, there are other creative "tools" they apply, in addition to QE. Overall, the Fed purposely obfuscates the information they release to us by using made-up language to keep everyone guessing or keep our collective heads in the sand while they do their damage, er I mean, work to "save" us. So your guess is as good as mine.McWinning wrote: Bloobs,

I simply relay information as I find it.

Yeah, I share your frustration. Thanks for the data.bloobs wrote: ...Overall, the Fed purposely obfuscates the information they release to us by using made-up language to keep everyone guessing or keep our collective heads in the sand while they do their damage, er I mean, work to "save" us.
