Seems like the market wants to go down to 3500 or even 3250/2900 to force the Fed to consider reducing the fed rate a bit back later this year or early next.

I'm fine with that since it will push that everything debt bubble can a few more years before it catastrophically implodes.

Yes, very surprised. I too went in today. A silver lining: The NQ and the ES did not quite properly test the 50 EMA. The NQ is now holding support aftermarket on the 20 EMA and 9 EMA. While ES is holding support on the 3 EMA. Let's see what tomorrow brings...

Nothing surprising about bouncing off resistance.

Yet, I'm not convinced this was a true rejection off resistance. The ES did break through the single standard deviation on the 30 day chart but then lost steam and pulled back. But the ES never challenged any major EMA or any of the previous highs of June 28 or July 8. It just seemed to give up the ghost after 12pm. I suspect it wants to try again tomorrow to test the 50 EMA

there's little fundamental basis to break through resistance. it's purely a traders market continuing on a months long downtrend.

Deserted Stock Market Shows It Can Swerve Any Way at Any Time
-S&P 500 posts 17th separate session of 1% reversals in 2022
-Violent moves deter wary investors as trading volume slows
-Equities having lost as much as $15 trillion during the bear market run.
-A yearlong rush to the exits by institutional investors has left the stock market’s foundation delicate and given to quick swings.
-On course for the most volatile year since the global financial crisis.
