You likely know this, but today the S&P finally hit the 20 day weekly MA---so it's heads or tails time again. Place your bets

You're about back to where you topped out in March. What is your post-discount exist strategy?

I don't think I will consistently beat the market; haven't yet until this year.
Since joining this site I've tried to use the daily strategy/TSPCalc, but fail (mostly my fault). So I spent the last 1.5 years researching investing and charting. I slowly broke away from the daily's and started trading what I think is the best move. It's paid off, but is extremely stressful managing my retirement. Having a 32% edge on the S fund right now makes me want to stay put.
So I have no post-discount exit strategy yet; may just sit tight until the Christmas rally and see where the charts take me. :D

Remember the words of Jack Bogle: “Don’t just do something. Stand there!”

Wolfpack is the only member that is beating the "C" fund over the last 10 years. If we all just would have bought 100% C? I too am not doing the daily/monthly strategy anymore either. I did not have the discipline and time to keep up with the moves. Also each move came with the stress of...should I really be doing this?

For me, A balanced buy and hold works. Less stress, less time sink and I feel comfortable not doing anything. My goal is to keep my current portfolio balance for 5 years and reassess closer to retirement.

During the accumulation phase, down markets are actually good because we are buying low. This is what I found is working the best for me.

PS: JCFORD2002 is in like 6th place: buy and hold 50 C and 50 S

I am just an average Joe. I have no clue to what the market will do.

To be clear, they *predict* a drop to ~3800 first before a rally to ~4600 could be set up.
