Using Target as a Leading Indicator

Post by Tomanyiron »

https://www.cnbc.com/2023/02/28/target- ... -2022.html
"Target will report fiscal fourth-quarter earnings before the bell today. The company has missed Wall Street’s earnings expectations for three consecutive quarters.
Target is more vulnerable than its archrival Walmart. Groceries account for just 20% of Target’s sales, while Walmart gets more than half of its sales from the frequency-driving category."
So Target is more discretionary than Walmart.
